Kamala Harris Condemns Trump’s Use of National Guard in Los Angeles Riots

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has drawn sharp criticism after speaking out against President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy National Guard troops to help quell escalating violence in Los Angeles tied to immigration enforcement protests.

Over the weekend, clashes erupted across parts of downtown Los Angeles as demonstrators aimed to obstruct ongoing ICE operations. Federal agents and law enforcement vehicles were targeted, and several shops were looted

or set on fire. Despite the mounting chaos, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass declined to call for state-level intervention.

In response, President Trump federalized approximately 2,000 California National Guard troops to restore order, with an additional 500 Marines on standby at Camp Pendleton. The move was met with immediate opposition from Harris.
